Most commonly, they occur in the elderly (e.g. due to improper denture fit, orthodontic appliances). All changes must be closely observed. If, after two weeks, no significant improvement is observed due to taking pharmaceuticals, a histopathological examination is performed, which determines whether the changes are cancerous. In the case of detecting proliferative changes (cancer), it usually becomes necessary to perform surgical intervention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other changes in the oral cavity which can develop into inflammatory or proliferative changes are, for example, aphthous ulcers.
