How to recognize ill-fitting dentures and what are the risks of using such restorations?<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Modern dentures and prosthetic stoma<\/h2>\n\n<p>Modern dentistry and prosthetics use modern and advanced materials to treat teeth. This is also the case with missing teeth, such as dentures. The materials and structures used are durable, resistant to deformation, abrasion or cracks. Sometimes, however, it happens that the prosthesis is ill-fitting, which can lead to the so-called. prosthetic stomatitis. These are various types of pathological changes in the oral cavity caused by wearing a prosthesis.<\/p>\n\n<p>If the denture is not fitted properly, its mobility is characteristic. Then, abrasions of the mucous membrane, redness, and inflammatory changes appear in the oral cavity. They are accompanied by pain and tenderness, as well as swelling. Most often, such situations occur when dentures are not sufficiently polished or the metal elements have not been fitted correctly.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The influence of ill-fitting dentures on oral hygiene and the possibility of infections<\/h2>\n\n<p>An improperly fitted prosthesis causes food residues to get into the gaps between the prosthetic filling and the anatomical structures, which are very difficult to remove.
